Glass Courses at the Glass Hub

GLASSBLOWING CHRISTMAS BAUBLES
with The Glass Hub Team

Glass Blowing Christmas Baubles at the Glass Hub
COURSE OUTLINE

All ages welcome to come and blow your own Christmas bauble. Make it for yourself or as a gift! Choose a colour, and under our expert guidance and safe instruction create your own unique glass piece.

Each bauble experience to create one bubble will take approximately fifteen to twenty minutes. We are running sessions in the morning and afternoon and although we give you an approximate time for your session we recommend that you arrive about 15 minutes before your allocated time.

IMPORTANT! Due to the cooling down processes involved with all glassmaking it is not possible for students to take work home on the day it is made. Wok needs to cool slowly in our kilns and may be collected at a later time by arrangement or we can carefully package and post work on for an additional postal fee (£10 for 1 bauble or £20 for 2-4 baubles).

TUTORS: The Glass Hub Team
The Glass Hub team are all professional artists and tutors with many years experience. We run a number of furnaces, and although we do not guarantee a particular tutor for the 1-day blowing courses you can be sure that each tutor will be highly qualified and experienced.

Our team includes:
KT YUN
KT uses hot glass as her chosen artistic material and is passionate about the process as well as the product, using traditional techniques and merging them into contemporary styling - producing unique and graphic imagery. Her creations investigate the fluidity and possibilities of glass in its liquid form. KT has travelled and worked in many glass factories and studios throughout Europe, including Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg, Lino Tagliapietra and Dale Chihuly. She was an original founder of the Liquid Glass Centre, but has more recently worked with glassblower Sonja Klingler. KT is a co-director of Minimelt Glass, producing small mobile glass blowing furnaces, and co-director of The Glass Hub.

SONJA KLINGLER
Sonja is a glass artist/maker with over twenty years of hot glass experience. She graduated from UCA Farnham with a BA in 3D Design in Glass in 1993, and since then, through diligent application in the glass bench, has become one of the most experienced female glass blowers in the country. She runs her own studio in Frome, Somerset where she makes sculptural work using blown/hot glass, often introducing other materials such as stone, metal or wood. As well as making her own studio glass pieces, she has worked with a great number of artists and designers to help them achieve their artworks and ideas, including Neil Wilkin, Menno Jonker, Rachel Woodman, Catherine Coleman, Johannes Von Stumm and many more.
